Stall Fest

Well after a little over a year my girlfriend looks at me last night and wants to try and drive the Camaro. I for some reason agree and let her do it. She got it rolling and could not get it into 2nd gear. Got to the stop sign and BAM stalled it. Restarted it, and got it rolling again, STALLED, once again she got it going turned down a hill got to the stop sign, STALLED. Let her have one more shot at it, was on a slight incline, had a car pull up behind us, and....... Yup, panics and STALLED it. I had to get out and get behind the wheel and drive it home. The car behind me was a neighbor who was watching this, and wanted to know if I had lost a bet, and had to let her drive... My poor drive train.......

Take her to an empty parking lot and teach her. She will reward you with more ways than you can count.

No worries on the drive train, we all have to learn sometime. You will find empty parking lots are your friend to get the feel of it. Don't let her chicken out to try again.

The parking lot idea is what she wants to do next weekend. No cars, and plenty of room.

Best way to teach someone. Less pressure from other cars etc.

Time is the best teacher. She will be switching gears like you in no time , that is, if you can fathom allowing her to get back behind the wheel. If you have any transmission concerns moving forward, don't hesitate to let me know.

All the best,

William R.

I'm sure my first Camaro hated me when I got it. I had never owned a stick shift before and it took me a good 2 months to get it down to where I wouldnt grind something accidently or stall a few times... It was embarrasing haha.
