Bleeding brakes and amount of fluid ? Help Please

So this coming memorial weekend I am changing out my entire system lines, rotors, pads, I bought two 500 ml RBF600 , Now I am wondering if I need more , Also I have a automatic transmission , Is it ok to bleed right through the lines by opening and closing the valve , Or have any of you used anything to make it more simple and less messy ? Thanks for any help
