I am pretty sure this is a common problem, but my gas gauge is pegged and stuck there. anyone know how to fix it? or do I need a new sending unit?

I had a 98 Firebird that had the same problem and yes, you need a new sending unit. At the time mine failed it was a costly repair so I never fixed it and used the trip odometer and reset it to 0 when I filled it up and when I got around 200 miles or so filled it up again.

did it just peg all of a sudden or did you take of your cluster at some point?
