MAX Valve lift

What is the max valve lift on a cam you can install before interference with pistons on a stock LS3?

Depends on the design of the cam.Average are .610-.620 range.
But I have seen some push it to .650.
I'm sure the cam specialists will chime in here in a bit.

Yep, lift is probably one of the least things that affect piston to valve. Read the sticky at the top of the page.

Your best bet is to talk with a experienced camshaft design shop. I can give you a cam with less than stock lift that will bend every valve on startup, or a .750" lift camshaft that would clear just fine. Really there are so many things that go into p/v that are way more important than max lift.

Give us a call if we can help you on it, we do more LS camshafts than anyone else in the world.
