What's the best supercharger and why?

Hey guys, I'm seriously considering getting a supercharger for my Synergy SS (L99) and I'd like to hear your comments. I've been researching like crazy on this forum and I'd like to hear from you. Obviously money is a concern, so is driveability. I currently have LT headers, high flow cats, Borla S-type and a SCT tuner from Jannetty. I also have a CAI but realize that this will have to go. Not looking to go too crazy but would love to add some serious muscle!! I love this car but want more! I will probably only go to the track a few times a year and already have a separate set of rims with Nitto 555R's.

Please advise. Although opinions are welcome, I'd really like to hear from the guys with actual experience. Just want to be informed before I spend this much money. My wife already thinks I'm nuts. HA!!

Thanks guys. Looking forward to hearing from you.

John

Putting a supercharger on a camaro is a dumb idea.

Your CAI doesn't necessarily have to go. You can have the tube cut down to the right size (its what I had done). I have the 2.9L whipple and I couldn't be more happy.

There is no "best supercharger" only preference.

I prefer the ECS Kit. Great power, driveability remains unchanged for the mostpart and it is easily expandible for more power. That said, when it comes to Forced Induction and even moreso on Superchargers, there is no wrong choice (except ebay electrical superchargers..).

Oh and for the most part, they are all in the same price range..

I'm real happy with my Magnuson, but most people are happy with whatever one they bought. It's hard to make a bad choice. Any of the major brands will give you a huge increase in power. In my case, the supercharger improved drivability by adding back in the low end power that the cam took away (plus a lot more). You'll love it.

If you have a CAI brand intake they make a replacement tube that fits with the Magnuson. I don't remembers the price for it, but it fits great. If you're thinking of installing it yourself, I believe Ted might update your tune for free if you buy the supercharger from him. You'd have to double check on that. He did an outstanding job on mine and it wasn't an easy job since we had some trouble with the AFR sensor on the dyno which made it a long day.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I'd probably buy it from Ted, unless I can find a screaming deal on a used one?

Yeah, I like the way the top mount blowers look too. I talked to a few guys with Prochargers and they swear by them. Not the best looking tho.
