The Space in my trunk is slowly disappearing

Is your bottle made to be mounted that way? Usually the pickup tube is in so that the bottom of the bottle needs to be towards the back of the car so that when you go wot the force doesn't push it away from the tube in the bottle. If I mounted my bottle like yours I'd only be able to get about 1/2 our of it and it would act empty.

That is probably a Nitrous Outlet optional mounting plate, seen several that way and work well. The siphon tube is still pointing down in the bottle, and it's mounted at a slight angle like the forward mount option.
