Hood Alignment (Front outside corners)
Looking for some help guys, I may have done this myself, but I can't seem to get it straightened out and lined up with the front end.
I removed my hood clip/clamp (the part that secures the hood closed) to get to something behind the grill and upon re-assembly I noticed that the outside corners of my hood no longer line up with my front end (hood is about an 1/8" to high. I tried to adjust the hood clamp but in order to get the outside to line up properly, the middle ends up being about a 1/8" to low in the middle. When I flush up the middle, the outside of the hood is to high. Not sure how I could have done this, but looking to see if anyone else has had this problem and how you might have gone about getting everything lined up again. Worried I'll take it to a dealer and they simply tell me its my fault, so it'll cost you. Is it possible that upon initial re-assembly I had the clamp to low (I remember having to adjust it and raise up the clamp) and when I closed the hood, it actually bent or flexed the outside corners of the hood? Now that I'm typing this out, it kinda seems like the only logical theory. But I'm worried about attempting to "bend" it back into place. |

You didn't bend anything. Not sure if it's much different than the SS, but I also took my hood clamp off and had a hard time getting hood aligned properly. Just loosen up the hood latch and keep trying.

the crappy part is that you have to adjust blind. then close the hood and check, and when I tighten the bolts, the clamp seems to shift slightly. maybe I'll get a c-clamp and hold it in place while I tighten er up.
ok, thanks for the reply. I'll keep messing with it. |
