Light chirping sound from wheels at 25-30 mph!

I often hear this sound from the left side of my car. It's faint. Started now on the right side. Goes away when I brake or slow down so I'm not convinced it quiets from baking alone.

Plus, I checked the brake wear indicators and I'm nowhere near the rotor.

I'm afraid to get service at my dealer. They swapped my splitter early on and didn't fully reassemble all the locking clips. I had to buy 8 locking clips at 3.30 each. My tennis partner drives a Volt and they kept his car for over two days to change the oil. And my old boss had biz Vetter there for a started and they kept it over a week.

If its a rotational chirping noise it could be the pads themselves. Might have heat cracks. Also could be the rotor backing plate. Sometimes they can get moved around and contact rotor and make noise at certain speeds.

So do something about it or let it go?

If it happens when your shifting that's normal at rpms anywhere down to 2500rpm.

If it was me I would do a brake inspection on it, pull the pads and check them, just give it all a general look over.

Nope. Not shifting. Just cruising in 3rd and hearing cheep ... cheep ... cheep ... cheep ... cheep.

Check for rotor warp while you are there. it will be cyclic in sound and most times the stopping will be "jerky"

Using a dial indicator properly set up check radial runout of the rotor, I'm sure someone can find the spec for you. Does the brake pedal or steering wheel pulsate during braking?
