Enclosed trailers

I'm thinking about getting an enclosed trailer. I was wandering if any of you have one, and any input on ramp length, escape door, inside fender heigth or anything else i should consider. I definitely need an all aluminum trailer for its lighter tare weight.

Go 24ft with an escape door. A 20 footer would work but the extra room is nice. If you are going to be hauling a ZL1, I would suggest getting a set of race ramps so you can get it in the trailer without rubbing the front spoiler. I would make sure it has a couple 12 volt lights inside if you have to ever load in the dark.

Enclosed

Might want to get a trailer with a beaver tail behind the axles. I was checking out snowmobile trailers last year and Aluma was offering this option for a better approach angle. Makes sense to me. A winch is a great option to save yourself some problems loading. I still can't believe I went without for so long.

Have a look at Andy's (THR#1) setup for his enclosed trailer see post #135 he. Built a platform for his trailer.

My fender in the escape door is removable allowing full swing of the driver door.
The folding ramp extensions work well for the approach angle.

Nice trailer. I like the color. I guess I'll have to be the poor guy that still has to drive his car to the racetrack.

Yes. That's the reason my car is stock!

Thank you all for your responses, very helpfull. So many brands to choose from, and it is difficult to find many to look at in stock this time of year in my area. Trackman, your trailer is close to what i am looking for, very nice. My wife said we bought the car to drive, not pull around with our truck. So it looks like we are driving to Texas in May. I told her we are taking winding roads only. lol

I wouldn't sell my car. We have so much fun with it. But the pulling is fun as well. And there are so many good people involved. Glad I don't have to make the choice.

Thanks, Sean . .

Trailer is a Wells Cargo 24' x 8.5' plus 6" taller than stock. W 10,000 lb GVWR

8' wide awning escape door.

Built 6.25" tall ( 2x6 + 3/4" plywood) raised rails so that I can open the car door.

Did add a winch to pull the car in to ease strain on the clutch.

Use Race Ramp door extensions and all works great.

SWEET set-up ! Whats the spacing on the 2x6's? Is there a 2x6 in the middle or just on each end?

Hi THR ZL #1 What model race ramps are those and is that a T Hook for tie town? I need to get both of them. A winch is a good option I can use my winch and not have to open the trailer side door. These cars are wider then my 69 camaro I wouldn't want to rub my tire on a trailer fender.
