Emergency Wash and Wax - 2011 Yellow Camaro SS

Just wanted to share a quick wash and wax I performed on a clients 2011 Yellow Camaro SS. With all the rain this weekend in Daytona, he was forced to park in the grass for the Daytona 500. He called me Monday morning to see if I could make time to clean up his ride. I told him I couldn't make any promises but I completely understood and asked him to bring his Camaro over.

Here was the Camaro upon delivery.

Bugs

:(

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time for a complete detail, but I wanted to give the SS a quick wash.

I started with the bugs on the front bumper. After rinsing the area to allow the bumper to cool, I presoaked the bugs with Detailers Pro Series Road Kill Bug Remover.

Luckily the wax I had previously applied (Dodo Juice Rainforest Rub LE) was still holding up strong, which made cleaning the bugs pretty easy.

Then I moved onto the wheels. After rinsing the wheels and knocking off as much dirt and mud as possible, I sprayed the wheels with CarPro Iron X.

Then I agitated the wheels with a Speed Master Wheel Brush.

CarPro Iron X dissolving brake dust.

I washed the car using the two bucket wash method with Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Shampoo. I've been really impressed with the lubricity and amount of suds this shampoo makes. I also added a capful of Dodo Juice Total Wipe Out (all purpose cleaner) to add cleaning ability to the wash.

Not perfect, but much better.

For a quick coat of protection, I used Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Spray Wax with a Super Plush microfiber towel.

This quick detail only took me 1.5 hours. He'll be bringing this car back to me in the near future for another full detail.

Products Used:

Detailer’s Road Kill Bug Remover
CarPro Iron X Iron Remover 500 ml.
Speed Master Wheel Brush
Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Shampoo
Dodo Juice Total Wipe Out All Purpose Cleaner (APC) 500 ml.
Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax
