Long tubes, off road connections CA...
Ok guys so I'm planning to get some long tubes very soon and was wondering what are my risks of going castles. I want to save as much as I can since high flows are like $300! I think I'll probably leave the l99 resonated h pipe to keep the sound down a tad. So what should I get: cats or no cats? If anyone running no cats would like to share their experience comment or pm of you want to stay covert lol

California is one of the worst states for emissions, if you run without cats you wont pass inspection

He can't pass inspection with either.
Unless you plan on going FI, get cats. I melted mine with the Maggie and there is a HUGE difference in smell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No cats here 50% of time. I like raw fuel smell...it can bother others. No cats is just as illegal as hi flow cats if that is a concern.

High flow and no cats are illegal in CA. with no cats, you will fail both visual and the OBD portion, at least with high flows it's only the visual portion that will fail (as long as all of your O2 sensors are turned on), you might get a smog guy that misses the visual part. If the car is well-tuned, you can likely pass the tailpipe emissions portion even without. But if you want to not worry about passing in CA just go with cat forward options, or keep your original exhaust and swap it out when it's time.

just realized you have slp loudmouths. may want to find a quality muffler to compliment the extra noise / power.

I plan on getting a resonated x pipe, hopefully that will reduce the sound.

At the moment I'm running LTH no cats, straight through x-pipe, and no mufflers. I think I am going to add hi-flows for two reasons.
1) In my opinion it's a little raspy without the cats. But that may be due to me having no mufflers/resonator etc. 2) I love the smell of the catless but for health reasons I want to put them back on. Being exposed to those fumes constantly can't be a good thing.
