Default Audio Source?
Hey guys,
So we tend to leave an ipod plugged into the usb port in the center console. Its great for when we can't find anything on XM, the radio, etc. But whats annoying is everytime we start the car, it recognizes the ipod is there and starts playing from there. Is there any way to set the audio setup so that the car will remember where you were (XM, FM, iPOD, CD, etc) when you turned the car off and go back there? Not really a big deal, just curious if its possible or if anyone has done it. Thanks! |

Actually, that's how the system was designed and I made quite a lot of effort to design it such that this would be possible. It's because of a bug in the startup routine in the PDIM that it automatically switches to the iPod every time you start up the car. With the software update that is available at your dealer, this problem should be fixed. Thanks for the feedback and I hope that you'll be able to have it operate correctly soon.

I'm really looking forward to that PDIM upgrade then. Does the same thing with the Zune. Annoying!

Well, in theory that should work... The update hasn't officially been released to everyone's own VIN in the GM database, so at first when the dealer looks up your car, they'll say, 'nope, no update'. But there's information at this thread that explains what people have done to 'help' their dealer find the update part number and get it downloaded.
One other piece of info that's on that thread is that there is another update coming soon (I would think it should be showing up in a week, but maybe it'll take longer) with some more Bluetooth improvements. So, if you're going to go get it updated, you may want to just wait for the next one to come out unless your dealer is close by and you like visiting them .
