6 spd manual 1st and 2nd gear
I have the SS and just curious if anyone else hates the 2nd gear? I shift to second and have to immediately go to 3rd.......Is it me or the way Im driving it?????

It just seems like 1st and 2nd are REALLY close together. Im still getting the feel for economy as well as performance. So what do you guys shift speed/RPM wise? Im just fishin here so please no flames. :o)

What are "LT1" options? You mean 1LE? lol If so, your gears are closer together. You have 3.91s as opposed to the 3.45s non 1LEs have

I always take off on 1st, then short shift to 2nd and lean on that throttle. The torque just gets it going from like 10-20mph and the feeling of acceleration that lasts all the way up close to the next shift is what I just love about these cars! My son loves that feeling of it too!
Ofcourse its not as brutal as my last built TransAm; it's still stock ... but it'll do for now haha Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

Must be the way you drive. I drive it like I stole it most of the time, Shift at 6000 rpm, when traffic isn't heavy. That gets you 35-40 1st gear, 65+ 2nd , 90+ 3rd.

Same here. I love the pull in second gear and might not move the 3rd until about 80-90. But if I'm driving conservative I might be into 2nd around 15 mph and 3rd around 20 or 25.

The only 2 gears that are close together is 4th and 5th.
