Dealership complaint (what else is new)

So I take my tire to get patched at the dealer under the insurance that I purchased...they do the tire repair just fine but come to find out there's a scratch all the way around the rim on my 1LE, I call them up bring it to them and they tell me to bring it in. I bring the car in they look at it and the service manager tells me that they should have warned me beforehand that this could happen and because they didn't warn me they will take care if it, but when I have my tires replaced and they scratch my rims again they'll be billing me for the repairs. Seems like a pretty shitty deal to me.

Because they didn't "warn" you? So if they did and then they screwed up your wheel, they are absolved? "Hey, we might really screw your wheel up. Just letting you know. Because we won't pay". Farmers call that "bullshit".

And if you get your tires replaced and they do it again, they won't pay? Oh, brother! get that in writing and then ask GM Regional what they think of that

Oh I already contacted GM customer service about and and had a case made so if the dealership does this they'll contact them about the issue.

I find it interesting the things service managers will say to get out of paying for their screw ups. Had my Charger door handles replaced under a recall and the door trim was put back together like shit. Took it back and they tried to tell me that it was like that. I tell them that no, it wasn't. Had to take it to a different dealer to have the trim fixed and it was never as good as new.

Good luck. Most camaro owners dont know that 95% of the dealers do not have the new updated heads for the alignment racks. Most take your car up the street to a local tire store and you dont even know it. There is only one dealer in my area that has the updated goods but the service is so poor there I wouldnt even use them. My dealer cant align zl1s or vettes and they said if they did mine I was sure to get free damage that they would not be responsible for.

It's like those signs on gravel trucks that "warn" you: not responsible for damage from falling contents

They can put any sign they like on that truck. Doesn't make it the law. What it does is fool a percentage of people into not complaining.

Note that in your survey with specific notes about your awesome manager. Apparently, quality work shouldn't be expected.

When i brought my Z in Boston and drove it home to Albany .One of the first things i did the next day was go around to local dealers and talk to service Managers about there qualification and ability to work on my car. I found a local dealers where the service manager walk me through the service department and explained to me the qualification of his mechanic to work on ZL1. He also showed me some of the corvette and ZL1 they where working on He told me that i could have one mechanic designate to my car.He would be the only person who would drive it and work on it . I explained to him and made it clear how much the car means to me and he got it so i will be using them for everything. I look at it this way. You would not take your kids to a doctor that you do not know or have checked out first so why would i leave my car with a mechanic i have not checked out ... i know i am crazy but it works for me

this exactly!

corporate comes down on dealers when bad surveys.

also contact corporate and work your way up the dealer to the other higher up managers/ owners.
