Waxing Question

I just got a 6" Random Orbital from Griot's Garage with a set of Hex-Logic pads (Yellow, Orange, Green, White, Blue, Black and Red). I'm thinking of starting off with just using it to apply wax (of course after a good washing and drying).

My question is, can I use the black pad (second softest) to apply the wax and use the red (softest) to buff it? Or use the red pad to apply the wax and hand buff it?

could apply with either really but guessing the red, to buff it off do the microfiber rapped around the face of what ever pad with one end over the handle with your hand gripping it and run it on 1 it will buff the wax right off in short order. if you check out one of the adams video's on there web site or Utube there is a video that shows this.

Its way faster to remove it by had with a microfiber. Unless you slathered it on too thick and then it will be tougher to remove. But wrapping the pad in a MF doesn't solve it either as the fibers will load up too fast and stop being effective (this is where by hand and turning the towel come into play.)

So the adam's people are wrong? you can use multiple Microfiber towels if you chose. the oscillating does most of the work. I have done both, but if I was in a hurry I would use the trick with the buffer if needed. to each there own I guess.

If you're using one MF to wipe it all off, yes.

You need to consider residue control. As you wipe the residue of the wax off, it will stick to the fibers and load them up. The more loaded, the less they can pick up and the more you "spread" rather than remove. Not changing sides of the towel often enough or getting a new towel all together will make streaking easier.

You can do it however you like, but when I can wipe a wax of a car in 15 minutes by hand and 30 by machine and end up with a perfect finish vs a streaky one, its not a hard call.

I've been using Buttery Wax for about 2 years and I like it a lot. To each his own. Lets leave it at that.

I got terrible news yesterday. A couple of months ago I noticed a sharp pain on the inside of my elbow. Well, being a guy I didn't think anything of it until a week ago the pain started running up my arm.

So yesterday I see my Dr. and she tells me I've got an inflamed Ulnar nerve. When I asked her what could cause it? She says repetitive action. I tell her I've been washing my vert 3 - 4 times a week since I got her in Dec. That will cause it she said.

I have to wait 2 weeks before I can wash her again.

if you are washing 3-4 times a week, I will assume you live at the end of a 3 mile dirt road, beside a giant tree pollen farm.

Not at all bad but doesn't last long. But it s very easy to apply and remove.
