I sense this too and recently a young woman in a challenger gave me the finger for no reason.

On saturday at a mcdonald's drive through the teenage girl at the window said right away.."That's my favorite car." I said "Thanks" and then figured she just liked camaros. I then said, "Do you know what this is?"...she said "A Z/28"...she was probably 17...how does she know this???

I've never had a car that gets more attention, mostly positive but some negative. The negative always comes from Mustangs, Challengers, or large modified pickups who want to race. The positive outweighs the negative, and I've never stopped for gas without having to field a bunch of questions about the car. It is surprising how many people know exactly what it is, and I've gotten huge kudos from guys who owned the original Zed...

You got the finger because she knows the Z28 is far superior than her car.

You will be better off with a Z28 with air than not having one at all.

Yes, he will be giving GM money in directly. There are many ZR1s out there and yes faster, a ZL1 is also faster. Both are not faster on the test track.

McRat at this point you did the order the Camaro, then get a Vet only because it took to long to get the car you wanted, don't repeat history get the car you wanted and ordered.

P.S. i sent you a PM.

2 problems.

Dealer markup

And we both think the C6 Vette is kind of ugly.

We can fix the markup now, but we would be stuck with ugly.
If you thought it was ugly then, has your opinion changed or would you be settling for "ugly" now?

Lot of good thoughts here from those who already have theirs. If I were in your position I'd hunt that car down. The ZR1 is special but damned if the Z/28 ain't something to behold.

First build date in May. Actually built June 10. Has been sitting at the factory since June 10.

Best guess is that there are too many sitting at dealerships in my area, so they are holding it.

Second guess is somebody needed a no AC car (rare) for racing, and mine was sitting there.

Because it does not take 48 days to move a car across the US. It doesn't take 48 hours.
I feel your pain and was in the same boat. My car was built 4/16 but did not make it to the dealership until Tuesday, 6/10. I was so frustrated that I had called the dealership to start discussions on unwinding the deal on Monday, 6/9. Then the next day it showed up and I am glad I waited. It took 55 days from production but I believe it was worth the wait. I am guessing the non AC order dropped production back in queue but thinking in terms of non-rail delivery and 55 days, I bet your car gets there by the end of next week. By the way, when it showed up, no one knew it was coming. Not the dealer, GM customer service, no one.

My dealer pestered GM, got the driver's cell number, and left him a message. He got a response from the driver, so I had the luxury of 36 hours advance warning on my car. Everyone else I know has basically gotten a call stating, "The transporter just showed up with you car!"...
