A LITTLE SCARED

OK, so yesterday the horn honked on the camaro like someone locked the doors. The keys are hanging up. i went outside and checked on it and all was good. Came out today to drive her to work and on the dash it said 3rd key programmed. i know i didnt buy or program another key in the last year. im worried someone has somehow programmed a key for my car so they could possibly steal it..

WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS?

I think your car has had another key programmed. If that's what it said, i'd believe it.
If that happened to me, I'd be at the dealer getting that fixed, rather than on the internet asking for opinions.

I would think someone has scanned your keycode :-(
I'd tell the Police
And get to some kind of Dealer, but it's the UK :-(
Maybe WH Brand can reset it all for you? Call Adam there ...
I had a difficult time with it all up North here... so I had a secondary CAT 2/1 alarm fitted :-O

Jeez! Sounds unlikely but then wouldn't take the risk! Get it in the garage or put another car behind it for now!

Sounds pretty dodgy. Get some kind of CCTV up as well. Cambridge Chevrolet have a Camaro specialist, that's where I get mine serviced. Maybe they'll be able to help - their number is 01223 873673 / 492

Key scanning/cloning was widely reported some months ago and all BMW's had a free fix. The b**tards were buying a piece of equipment off the net for a few quid.

I know nothing about modern cars or electrics but 40 odd years ago I put a switch on the wire from the coil. The engine cranked on the starter but wouldn't fire up. In the short term is there a modern equivalent quick fix?

For now I'd go to Maplins and buy a battery PIR alarm for £20. They are LOUD.

Welcome to the British police. I had a motorbike stolen 20 years ago - I'm still waiting for them to come out ! Drive at 75 mph though and they'll be there.
