Three Months and Loving It!!!
Hi all. I've been lurking on this forum for about 3 months now, ever since I got my VR 1LT RS. This is my third car, the second that I've bought brand new, and quite frankly I never thought that I would be as obsessed over a car as this baby.
Back in March when I found out that dealers were going to be getting a car to demo, I had been waiting for one to show up, so I could check it out in person and then decide if I wanted to preorder one or not. Beginning of May comes along and I've been checking every day for the local dealers to see when one comes in. Finally Rosner Chevy had one in, so I drove with my dad in his truck. I left my truck at home thinking that I was just going to be looking at a demo car, and maybe preordering one. We got there and met with the salesman, told him what we wanted to see and he showed it to us. I sat in the car and I swear that seat hugged me like I've never been hugged before. It just felt right. At this point I hadn't even test drove it and I was sold on preordering one. So I told him I was interested in ordering a 2SS and asked about how long it would take to get one. He explained to me where they were at in allocations and said it would take around 6-8 months. I was all ready to go ahead with that when he said, "But this one right here is for sale, right now." He had me hook, line, and all. It was a fully loaded 1LT RS for 27k. If I remember correctly it was an $800 markup from MSRP. I didn't care. I told him I was interested, we test drove it, and I bought it. For about a week I know I was the only one in the county who had a camaro, the first allocations from the preorders came in a week later. I wound up adding an option to get a new clear coat and fabric guard every 6 months, along with undercoat spray for another $1200. It had 13 miles on it. That first day cruising back home was awesome. I had a gorgeous ZR1 flag me over near a mall, so I obliged. He told me that he had just left the same dealer to see the Camaro (it had been there less than 2 days) and was angry that they sold the demo car. Apparently he wasn't too angry though since he was beaming and said he had to get one now. I've only had nothing but great experiences with my Camaro since then. Every day I'm still stopped by someone which surprises me to no end. Anyways, I just wanted to say Hi to everyone, and I'll be joining in on the conversations from now on. Forgive the pictures, using a new camera and I don't think I selected the right option. |

beautiful car man- congrats! I've been on the forum for awhlie and felt like I needed to come back on and say hi to all my fellow camaro5 members. Its been just over 2 months since I took delivery of my baby and I can't get enough of her. I still get looks at every stop light, although its calmed a little since I first got it, and its impressive when even a guy in a fancy Mercedes pulls up next to me to give me the thumbs up. Maybe he's regretting his purchase- but I don't think I'll EVER regret mine.

I feel the same way...I've had mine only a few weeks, but 1924 miles already......
I like the polished rims, I've not seen those yet. My only regret is not getting the RS on my 2LT

That victory red was a very close second choice to what I ordered. Looks sweet! Enjoy your new ride.

To be completely honest, building my Camaro online, the Victory Red didn't look that great to me. In fact alot of the colors on the Chevy site don't do the colors justice.
Everyone told me getting a red sports car = cops pay special attention to you, and they aren't kidding. I've been pulled over twice (once just to look, the second I had a momentary lapse in judgement and goosed the gas a bit and got pulled over, he let me off though after "inspecting" my car). I don't think any color on this car is bad. Taste the rainbow! |
