Anyone ever tried PDR?
Anyone ever hired a Paintless Dent Removal person to remove minor dents and creases? I had a PDR guy look at a very minor dent on the front fender today (barely noticeable unless looking at it just at the correct angle but annoying to me nonetheless) and he seems to think he will be able to get it back to new condition. I am apprehensive as I have never tried this before or know anyone who has. I am leaning towards letting him have a crack at it, if I am not happy with the result, I can always take it to a body shop to fix dent and repaint the panel.
thanks. |

It likely depends on the technician doing the work, but I tried it once and it looked worse after the dent was "removed." I couldn't help but thinking I got what I paid for.

Doc is probably right. I either got lucky or had someone with "touch" and skills.
In my case, to get a couple of dings out, that the technician could get to easily, and the setup was in an autobody shop with proper lighting, he did a good job. |

Most of them are pretty good, hell the insurance company's are doing more and more paintless dent repairs on claims then ever before!! I have a buddy who does this and he took out a small ding on a body line of my Black altima and he did a terrific job, no signs of the dent at all!!

I hear that dealerships are hiring PDR guys to take out dents
as opposed to thé traditional method thèse days. Thé high end dealers rely on thèse guys a lot nowadays. I'll give them shot. |

I've seen some dents removed this way that I wouldn't believe if I didn't see. Just make sure the guy knows what he's doing and has good references.

My car was in a hail storm while sitting in the rail yard. They did the PDR, and when it got to the dealer, I went over it inch by inch looking at it at all angles and lights. They gave me the paperwork from the PDR with the locations marked that had the dents. I have had the car for a month, and wash it several times a week by hand. I still have not seen any sign whatsoever that the car had any dents in it. The finish is perfect.

I had a PDR guy take out 2 small and very subtle dents. Access was no problem so it only took him 10 minutes!! I couldn't find any traces of the dents, it was like they were never there! I was skeptical at first but seeing is believing and I am a believer now. I am not worried about dents anymore. I have a guy to fix them!

I used a paintless dent removal guy for my black Cadillac. Did a great job! Even on a black car you could not see where the dents were. He even buffed out a couple light scratches and the side of the car looked brand new again. Definitely check around for people that have had work done before if you can.

Reciently had a guy here locally take about thirty five hail dents out of my daughters Vibe. Only one is noticiable now. ( so deep it stretched the metal ) I have used this kind of repair for door dings on my wife's suv. Find a good one and make him or her your friend for life. LOL

I have had several small dents taken out by colors on parade and I have been well satisfied. He could not get one out of a Harley tank for me, but he told me up front probably could not. It still looked much better.

PDR works great. Some a-hole put a 3" crease in the door of my wife's black HHR, luckly it didn't break the paint. Pro Dent in Salt Lake City had a mobile tech come out to my office and he took it right out. Cost me $135 but well worth it. You can't tell there was ever a dent!!
