ZL1 brake fluid?

After washing the car today I checked all the fluids and I noticed the brake fluid looks fairly dirty. Car only has 5000 miles on it but I know the SS guys are having all kinds of issues with dirty brake fluid messing up their clutch master cylinders.

I used Motul 600 when I upgraded my V6 car with brembos. Worked great.

Should I just have the system bleed at the dealer and swap it to Motul 600?

I saw this the other day:

Brembo 500++ brake fluid? Anyone try this at all?

And has anyone separated their clutch fluid from their brake fluid reservoirs?

I bled mine with Motul 600 2x now in ~3000 miles...a must for putting the car on the track.

Nope. With all the different opinions I've not messed with it. I only have 4 track days on it so far though.

Ya I agree. I think I'll just make sure to change the fluid often and take a "don't fix it until I notice a issue" approach.

I use this in all my cars that see track time for both the clutch and brakes.

same question here.

I was thinking about doing this in the spring. I am surprised there is not more discussion on this topic.

I think the issues has come up with the 1LE guys more as they seem to track more. Most peeps who get the 1LE package do so for the additional corning during track days. I've seen very few ZL1's on the track the 4-5 times I've gone.

So the question is will the ZL1's suffer from the same clutch/brake fluid issue as the 1LE's?

I assume so as it appears we have the same clutch/reservoir set up.....

I use motul 660 and I have seperated the clutch and brake reservoirs. The stock GM clutches put more contaminants into the fluid than the brake system does. The hard braking tends to leave the heated fluid close to the calipers so if you just bleed off a little from each wheel after each track day your brake side stays really good. Drag racing seems harder on the fluid than anything.....but I'm burning up clutches and transmissions.
