LS7 1LE

Would you have gotten your 1LE with the LS7 if it was a $5K option? I know I would've, mine would be a 1SS, 1LE, Recaros, and LS7 it'd only be around $45K MSRP. Too bad GM didn't do that, I guess I have to keep building the LS3 then.

Of course!!

As yesterdays thread about this discussed, it would likely not be possible at such a low additional cost, but we can dream.

too many worries

The LS7 is a monster. I had one in my 2009 C6 Z06, and it was the fastest car I most likely ever owned. My only worry was there are, and still is, an issue with the valve guides prematurely wearing, eventually causing a intake valve to drop into the combustion chamber. Since everything is aluminum on this engine, it usually blows out a cylinder liner, breaking the block... causing the entire engine to be a complete right off. While under warranty I was worried, but knew I was covered as long as I didnt modify it. After the drive train warranty ended, I sold the car. The crate engines are $15K. There are a lot of threads covering this known issue, both in the Z28, and C6 forum. Guess if you want to play, you have to pay. It was just too much money for me to worry about, cause if the engine went the car would have been worthless w/o the replacement engine.

seeing that the LS7 crate motor is $15k from GM performance parts it would still be a cool option.

GM really needs to offer the A6 for the 1LE.

Even a dry sump LS3 with a few more ponies would have been a nice option!

I saw this exact set up last time I was out at the Street of Willow race track. That 1LE was a fast mofo and sounded great around the track.

I have no idea how much he paid to have the LS7 put into his 1LE.

Do you mean A8 like the Corvette or a 6 speed version for the Camaro.

I know. So you are asking for a 6 speed version with the features of the Corvettes A8?

Sure ,im in for that . AT THE RISK OF GETTING FLAMED , what about a duel clutch like the PDK and a LT version of the 427 with no valve problems ? Or a Twin turbo LT.

As it sits right now, the A8 Vette is faster than the manual Vette. Like it or not, that is the facts at this point. And a dual clutch deal is nothing to sneeze at either. No one at the Rolex 24 at Daytona this year was using a manual clutch.....those were some pretty nice track cars!
