This keeps up much longer and mustang will take over total since 2009. Only about 12,000 less now.

Mustang is a damn good car. It's also the newest model on the market right now.

It'll be rough for Camaro until 6th gen starts up.

Look at the trend though, all three fell in sales the last two months. But look how close it is now. In May the Camaro was 4,000 in sales behind the Mustang, in June the Camaro was 3,000 sales behind and July they were just 1,000 behind. The Mustang looks like it may be losing its momentum. We will have to see if this continues, too early to call it yet.

I think the gen 6 car will fix it. It was a good time to come out with an all new car for sure. I love the new design. I'll be a buyer at some point I'm sure.

Yeah...Mustang had three HUGE months.

But looks like their July sales compared to those three months is significantly less. So now maybe we will begin to see how they will really sell now that the "gotta have it" and the enthusiast crowd has gotten their rides.

Not sure how the 2016 Camaro sales will play out at first....considering its the late fall/winter months.....so I don't predict huge numbers. Definitely nothing like the Mustang. Instead, what think it will equate to is strong sales through spring, and after that they will level off.

Its a long ways off, but I can't wait to see who's leading the sales war towards the end of 2016. I don't know which way it will go. I think it will be close.

Would it not be the same as any other GT? In fact, I thought that they actually went up in weight, by about 400 pounds, when Ford did the re-design?

Lolwut?

On average the Mustang picked up about 75-100lbs in the generation switch from S197 to S550.

The 2015 GT is less than 100lbs more than previous gen and is a much improved car overall except for Fords lack of quality control. It is a 1st year after redesign so some issues can be expected. Look what the Corvette guys have been dealing with on the new LT1. Hopefully GM fixes the LT1 issues before the Gen6 Camaro hits the streets.

The 2014-15 GTs are pretty equal in the 1/4 but the 15 GT handles so much better with the IRS. Stock vs Stock its the 2015 Mustang's driver's race to lose but the Gen 6 Camaro will change that.
