Does anybody have a successful installed new top?

I am getting a new one on mine and I am really hoping that it is going to be a successful replacement.

Mine was replaced about 1.5 years ago and does not have any problems. The local dealer did not want to do the replacement as they had not done one before. I found a local trim shop that had done two other Camaros and the dealer gave me the OK. They did a great job and it still looks great.

Look at all the trim piece around the top and even take pictures, dealer did recall work on my top and scratched the trim then they forgot to tighten bolts as well

I had my top replaced a little over a year ago and it just took a few trips to the shop to get everything aligned and adjusted properly, but I am happy with the results.

I had mine done a year ago now under warranty. They put on a 2014 version top. My dealer didn't want to do the work so they outsourced it to a shop in town that specializes in trim and tops. It took them 4 days to do it and it turned out great. No issues whatsoever. I agree with prior post take lots of pictures around the car before you take it in. Even with the plastic wrap they put all around, a few scratches occurred. Thankfully they were all able to be buffed out by dealer.

Mine was fully replaced in late 2012. Full top and water bag. Was taken right off the line and shipped to my dealer for install under GM tech supervision. No problems since

Top has been good, found out though they also cracked one of the plastic trim pieces on the inside where the screw attaches into which was causing a irritating noise when I would hit bumps but nothing some two sided tape couldn't solve though

Very happy as the shop they used was very knowledgeable and had worked on many Camaro tops! The install is only as good as the shop that is doing it though. Seems to be the deciding factor as most dealerships don't have the ability to do a good job as its a difficult top design. Ask for the updated water bag and get a two year component warranty letter and don't take no for an answer. Find out what shop they are planning to use and inquire as to how many Camaro tops they have worked on. Good luck!

Just got done with mine a couple weeks ago- it looks great. I've been using the top a lot and no rubbing anywhere. I got the tiniest squeak somewhere. I haven't checked for leaks yet but it never did leak; I'll wash it soon though and make sure it isn't.

Mine was outsourced to a place in Rhode Island that has done around 10 of these tops. My two year component warranty is in the process of being completed.

I posted an instruction manual for updating the tops that my shop used- it was 26 pages.

Be careful when you take a convertible to a dealership for top replacement or repair. Ask if they do it in house or outsource it. If they do it in house you need to find out what training/experience the tech has. If they outsource it, you need to find out to whom and get references.
I installed tops for 45 years and did many convertible tops for dealerships. I never knew a dealership that had experience in top replacement. I have fixed many that were attempted by dealerships. It takes a unique set of skills.

I just had mine replaced last week with no issues. The dealer sent it to a local trim shop - Shelby Trim - and they did a great job.
