Front License Plate Bracket

For those of you that's already bought the car... and if your state requires a front plate on the exterior of the car... How is the bracket attached? I refuse to let someone drill holes in the bumper. My 05 GTO has this and it erks the living bujeezus out of me when I take pictures. I wasn't really involved in the 5th gen cars so I don't know if an aftermarket solution was introduced. I'd like to see an easily removable piece that does not drill any holes or cause any other cosmetic damage. Something I'm just worried about, wondering if I'd need to fab something up myself.

Haven't got my 6th gen yet but the one on my 5th gen was mounted with a plastic clamp like device thru the lower grill, no drilling or holes involved. It had a plate that went behind the grill and a long screw that went thru the middle of the holder and into the plastic plate behind the grill. I would hope the 6th gen works the same way.

The holes for the Front License Plate Bracket are drilled into the black part of the front bumper, not the body color part. The rear license plate is attached by holes drilled directly into the bumper.

If the plate was removed, would the front holes be visible?

I simply don't want any visible holes in my car when I get it. My state requires the front tag and can be quite annoying about it. If the holes are not visible, I could remove the bracket whenever I pleased. If they are visible I will have to find some sort of solution.

Question...don't like the fact that rear plate has to be drilled and threaded directly into the bumper...anyone buy threaded fastners, I want something that will pop into holes and hold well...I saw these on Amazon.

When I talked to the designer of the front fascia in FNR event in SF, he told me the front license bracket was supposed to be drilled into the front bumper, because other wise it will obstruct the air flow to the radiator ...as you can see in LovePhenoms car.. i am planning to keep it on the dashboard...

But putting it on the dashboard isn't legal anyway so might as stick it in the glovebox or leave it at home. It's absolutely pointless and ugly to stick it on the dash.

If anything the plate in the dashboard would be more noticeable than not having one at all. A friend of mine tried that in his s2000. Got pulled 3 times in one day. Insane. Not to mention, you are right. It is incredibly ugly.
