New Sinister Hood Installed

Hello all. Sharing is caring, so I am here to share my new hood install on my 2013 SS.

A tree fell into my path a few months ago as I was driving. I'm fine and the car did well but there was about 3 to 3.5k in damage. Had to replace the bumper, a headlight, a fog light, the radiator, the grill. The hood had a few dents and scratches, so I used the moment as a reason to get an aftermarket hood

The hood has a scoop on it and it'll catch some air and push it back over the top of the engine. I have no idea if it actually increases performance or just causes more drag. Either way, I like the looks a lot and wanted to share.

My car is dirty...no waxing for 30 days they said.

**EDIT**

Forgot to say that I put some comparison pictures on here. One of the car before and after hood install from the outside and one from the inside. For the inside pic just take note of the inspection sticker on the windshield. You can get an idea of the change in view using that as a reference point.

Quick thank you to Stock or Modified Bodywork in Virginia Beach. Those folks were good people to work with and I'd recommend them to anyone after an accident or if you need some body work.

Your car looks really good! Surprised you didn't take the opportunity to upgrade to a ZL1 bumper.

Thanks! But stop giving me ideas!

Jk, that is a thought actually I did not consider. I am always looking for ideas...please continue with your thoughts!

I have several more ideas also. I already have long tubes, high flow cats and K&N intake.

I am very happy with this car so far, and I have met several Camaro owners who have been pretty awesome too. Keeping it forever. I hope

Stunning! Your car looks absolutely awesome. The before/after shots are really good and give a great look at the differences.

Did the body shop have any feedback on the hood? Was it pretty easy to work with?

Thanks for sharing.

I ordered this hood from PFYC and had it sent to the body dhop. No issues ordering from them, in fact they did very well.

It is a fiber glass hood. The fit was very good, no modifications needed. I believe the new hood is lighter, but im not sure by how much.

The painting was not hard for them. The only thing they had to do was work a bit with the spray nozzles for the windshield. The holes were in the new hood but they were slightly too small. They had to take a dremel tool and make them a bit bigger and they also had to dremel another hole to hold a part of the hose.

After that was done it was noted the sprayers wouldn't spray on the windshield bc the windshield wipers would block the spray. He was able to adjust the nozzles and change the angle to fix the issue.

First drive up until now, no differences that I can feel. Perhaps some more wind noise but I think I could be imagining that. Perhaps more get up and go...but I am certain I am imagining that too
