1/4 Mile Track Day in Georgia with the 2SS A8
More fun at the track today with some minor mods. Mods included hoosier slicks with 18lbs, skinnys with 40lbs, throttle controller and ported throttle body. DA was -332 at 100.98% and temp in the mid to low 50s. Runs were made with 1/4 tank of 93 octane and 220lb driver. Setup was track mode with traction control off. Runs started at idle and then just put it to the floor. No wheel spin. Track scale was closed so no weight available.
Here is the video: http://youtu.be/eLOQzIc9Kok Earlier in the day, we made about a dozen GY stock street tire runs with the same setup. My Son broke into the 11s for the first time. The car ran consistent 1.7-1.8 60fts, 11.90-12.0, and speeds around 117.5. The difference between an 11.9 and 12.0 was the start. It was cold so you had to do a John Force burnout to get a good 60ft. Awesome runs. I guess all these cars have the potential to run as well as yours. Interesting that the mph was higher on the slicks.

Man I can't wait till our track opens next month. Your car just gets faster. What hoosiers
are you running? Didn't you go 11.77 with drag radials?

really great one, the A8 is setting up to dominate 1/4 mile and between you and me and the fence it is going to dominate the AutoX too. Still I like the M6, slower but all me.

Wowee Zowee! I have never gone to a track before... This could change! That looks like a blast! I wonder how much slower the convertible will be?

The ported throttle body is the reason for higher mph.
Maybe a slight gain from the controller too - this would be harder to prove but would make sense. |

Very nice run. Did you talk to the Gt500 guy? What year was it too? Nice run no matter what.

There were several mustangs at the track but I did not talk with the owners or pay any attention to what was running. The runs were random so I ran what lined up next to me.

I'm going to run mine on street tires on the 12th of March and then go back next test and tune with drag radials. Hoping to have a cold air intake by then. What size were your drag radials and then the hooziers? thanks. Air should be really good here in Missouri in March.
I'm ready to roll.
