Odd front tire wear

This weekend I noticed that the outer portion of my front tires are wearing much more than the rest of the tire. The rear tires seem to be wearing in a similar way, but by a less amount. Air pressure is set to the recommended pressure and according to the dealer, alignment is good. But I'm thinking about getting a second opinion about the alignment.

The tires were brand new when I bought the car in December of 2013. Since then I've put about 25,000 miles on the car. I know these are a "soft" tire and they don't have a long expected life, but I would of thought they would wear evenly.

Any opinions?

Mine did the same shit. I can't figure it out. Wonder if I'm too hard on the brakes because I'm not going around turns at 90 all the time....

Are you taking corners fast? Any track time? If not I would have the Toe checked on the alignment. You could have too much Toe In.

I don't corner hard and have never been to the track. Sounds like a trip to the alignment shop is in order.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The usual cause is too much positive camber. The top of the tire is angled out while the bottom is angled inward.

I'm 99% sure my alignment was fine as well. I have it aligned once a year and keep the printouts. Can't remember how long it's been since I put the H&R spacers on but it may have contributed. Tire pressure was always kept within +/- 1-2 lbs of 36 psi cold.

I've read a few reviews of the Conti DWS's not lasting that long (20-25k) even with the tread warranty.

No worries, taxes got done yesterday. 275's or 285's all the way around on +23 offset coming soon. Let the 5-7k rotation and longer tire life begin.

I would suggest to have your alignment checked just to be sure.
