That has always worked for me.

If you properly adjust your mirrors you don't even need that. Side mirrors are basically large blindspot mirrors. Everyone just always sets them wrong.

Yes! Whenever I get in my wife's car I can see 1/2 the side of the car in the mirror! I need to adjust it out so I don't see any of the side of the car unless I move my head in the direction of the mirror and then the side of the car will just barely show. The more of your car you see in your mirror, the less of anything else will show. Duh

I used to do the same, I could always seem my car in my mirror lol. Honestly it wasn't until I got my 5th gen that I realized how to set them properly. Once you do though it's all good. Takes some time to have the confidence to trust your mirrors but it works.
