2017 Ordering

I understand that you can start placing orders for 2017 models on march 31, and production is slated for june 6. Presumably 2017s will be available this summer. Is anyone confused by this? I ordered my car as soon as pricing for 2016s became available, in late december, so how is it that orders for 2017s are around the corner? I figured it would be at least late fall before 2017s starting showing up.

That doesn't sound right, but who knows, depends what source you heard or actually read that from.

When I was buying my Stingray, orders were able to be taken as of end of June for August production. Now having said that, I guess it depends on how the individual factories work. This is usually the norm for GM.

Get in touch with forum member BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet she works at a dealership in the U.S. and can tell you everything and anything.

in the meantime, I am basing this info on the news that the 2017 50th edition will be released this summer, and some of the threads in this forum, including:

Many other brands start selling the next model year (2017) in July and August. It is fairly common.

Both Donlen's and Arifleet have the March 31 order and June 6 production start dates. Both are usually accurate but not always. Becky has posted April 21 as the last order cycle where those two have March 24. For planning purposes, I would go with Becky's date.

This timetable is not in effect for the 1LE, correct? My understanding was that it would not be available until late fall, similar to the 6th Gen launch.

i assume if becky is providing those dates they are accurate - i just don't understand how i wasn't able to order a 2016 camaro (in Canada at least) until mid december 2015 (when pricing became available), and 2017s are available for order by the end of March 2016.

Becky provided the April 21 date, the rest are from Donlen's and Arifleet.

Chevrolet Canada operates by its own rules but I suspect your local dealers were the problem, not Chevrolet Canada.
