HUD install tips plz

Hey Guys I'm about to install a HUD on my 2013. I have all the parts and all the instructions. I just want to know if anyone has any tips on taking apart the dash. I would love to know what I might run into and if you have a quick way around it. This is my DD so I need to get it all buttoned up and beautiful before friday. Thanks guys!

do not. I REPEAT DO NOT pull the steering wheel forcefully, once u take the center bolt off, try to get a steering wheel puller and slowly feed the airbag harness through the hole or put the bolt on back on a couple threads and then pull so it doesnt pull off fully so u dont break it or else your going to need a new clock spring and gotta get a scan tool or go to gm to calibrate the angle sensor.. trust me learned from experience

Ahhhhh I have no idea what any of those words mean!!!!!! I didn't even know I needed a "steering wheel puller" I didn't even know that was a thing. I'll watch a bunch of videos when I get to that and thanks for the heads up. I really hate my local dealers and I never want to see their stupid faces again. This is great! Anything else?

Update! The 2013 does not need asteering wheel puller, it just has a torx screw in the center and it's off. I will say this has been the most stressful mod yet. I spent 4 hours just following the steps up to pulling off the dash. When you order your harness from gen5diy.com they send you a template to cut out the hud window, but they don't tell you where to mount the template. I cut a small hole in the dash as centered as I could to where I thought it should go then expanded the hole until the trim fit and was flush to the hud . Tomorrow I have to pull up all the carpet on the dash and center console area so I can put down hushmats, then put all this crap back in the car without forgetting to screw in one of the 700 screws that had to come out today. I think if I could go back in time thw only thing I would have changed is starting earlier. I started at 2 and I just finished. My car looks like I left the doors unlocked in Detroit, it's gutted. Thanks for the advise guys it's not done yet, but I see the light.

yeah u dont need a pulley for all the camaro but it helps with preventing the risk of rippng the air bag wires from the clock spring i never used one. im glad it worked out for u. i hated doing it but after it was done i was glad i did it.

All done. Sooooo worth it!!!! I installed hushmats in the dash, center console, and front floorboards. It's so quite and I'm really happy it's over.
