1LE RUMORS/NEWS! (Release date, 2SS)

Take this for what it's worth, but my dealer contacted me about some 1LE news.

When I received this call I assumed it was news about when the 1LE may be available to order.

Keep in mind I have made no mention to my dealer that I would have interest in a 2SS 1LE.

So after speaking with his regional Chevy rep, he said that he was told that ordering for the 1LE was being delayed. He said the response to "why" was "They are considering a 2SS 1LE after some feedback from the 1SS/1LE unveil"

Also noteworthy is the comment my dealer got in response to his own personal theory that the V8 1LE was being pushed back so the V6 1LE could come first. In response to that the Chevy rep said "Absolutely not, if anything it may be that the V6 1LE comes later if they aren't released together"

Updated with poll.

Let's try to be really clear on exactly where we stand with 2SS opinions.

Why change the formula that worked for the 5th Gen, The majority 1LE being sold where 2SS. It seems that the older crowd doesn't care for all the creature comforts.

But V6 does?
And 2SS was available on 5th gen with 1LE (though not 3rd and 4rh)

That's interesting about the delay because it correlates to what a dealer told me last week that the 1LE wouldn't be available for ordering for another 4 months. He also went on to tell me the ZL1 could be ordered, so I asked for further details like pricing. He was going to get back to me but haven't heard from him since. I trust their info as much as the web though so I took it with a grain of salt. For me this is a 2017 purchase regardless so still looking at all options until then. For the record, I'd definitely consider a 2SS version of the 1LE but 1SS I'm sure would be fine for my attended use of this car.

That's similar to what I heard minus the ZL1 being ready for order. I wonder if both 1LE's and the ZL1 come out together late this year.

Would rather have the Cadillac CTS 3.6L Twin Turbo V6 for the 1LE but hey a V6 is not a Turbo-4......

A 2SS 1LE would be on my radar no doubt! Only time would tell, MY2018?

Ditch the 2LT V6 and add the 2SS. V6 will never go to the track. Anyone considering a 2LT 1LE to take to the track instead of a 1SS for the same price is not thinking straight.

I would rather they offer a poverty spec with optional factory half cage, no touchscreen, and manual adjusting seats. But with suede/alcantara on the doors dash and steering wheel.

Similar to the Z/28, interior-wise.

Why? The LT1 puts down almost identical acceleration #s, better fuel economy, and I'd bet throttle response is better.

The fact (my opinion) that it sounds better is icing on the cake.

A 2SS-1LE would be great news for me, but I'm going to wait for an official Chevy release before I get my hopes up too high.

Thanks, MJK for starting a new poll with more definitive questions. Your poll might give a better indication of everyone's feelings more than mine did. I think it was too polar but hopefully Chevy had a chance to look it over and read some of the comments made by forum members.
