Bowties: Vinyl vs Paint vs Replacement Bowtie

I'm definitely going to black out my bowtie, but which way is best? I'm trying to take looks, durability, work, and cost into account.

The cost and durability is much better with vinyl. If quality vinyl is used you will get 5 to 7 years of use for $20 (we only use 3M or Avery). If you don't want to install the vinyl you can ship it to us and we will install it for you for no additional cost. If you were going to paint or replace the bowtie you would have to remove it anyway. Also if you want to change the color of the bowtie it would only be another $20 or you could return it to stock.

I'd lean towards either Vinyl or replacement piece with this. The replacement piece would look the best (probably, depending on the quality of construction) but cost a bit more. Also, if you wanted to swap back to stock, it would just be a matter of putting the old one back in.

Paint just seems like more hassle than its worth.

Painted mine and it was 50 bucks. Looks MUCH better than factory in my opinion and I like it more than the vinyl ones i've seen.

I replaced mine with a black one from Defenderworx this weekend. It was like 130$~ but it looks great. It was also somewhat satisfying to put it in.

I should be getting mine next month from Huffines Chevy in Plano. Would I be able to stop in on the weekend to have you guys install the black out kit along with the bowties? Also, how much would it be with installation?

Normally we are closed on the weekends - we go to race tracks, car shows, etc. Call me when you get ready and I will meet you on a Saturday before 1pm. On bowties and the black out kit we don't charge any installation, so the total would be around $60 plus TX sales tax.

Same thing but chrome. Very happy with it. Good quality. I could not wait to get those ugly gold bowties off.

I got the front and back bowties in set for about $50 including shipping at www.sfxperformance.com. It is a great replacement part for a extremely cheap price. I have seen others go for more than $100 for the set.

I did CF vinyl on my CGM and it looks amazing. Most people are really surprised when I tell them it's vinyl, they think it was a whole new piece. Best of all I made them myself out of a sheet of CF vinyl I got at Autozone. Cost me like $20 total and I can make at east 5 more sets with the remaining vinyl I have. PM me if you want a play by play of how to cut out your own easily.
