Just saw PBIR decided to open tonight (7/22/16)
I may give it a shot. Weather sucks, 90s, but hopefully it won't be too embarrassing. I have almost 1,000 miles. So I plan to put it in competition mode, turn off traction control, leave it in drive and mash the throttle. My 2000 firebird is a stick so this will be different. I haven't even floored the car yet.

I did make it on Friday. Was hoping it would do better. It cooled down some due to showers in the area but the humidity was even higher. It was the first time I ever floored it. First run was a 12.44 at 110.89. I had my left foot on the brake and my right foot on the gas. I hit the gas kind of slowly but had a 1.92 60 foot which I was amazed at. The car felt like it wasn't reving very hard. Second run I tried to come down on the gas harder but spun so I lifted for an instance. The car seemed to pull harder but just barely broke 111 running a 12.52 at 111.14. My 60 foot was 1.99. On the third run I spun again but had some wheel hop. I lifted again and ran a 12.78 at 112.16. The 60 foot was a 2.07.
I really wanted to hit 114 mph. Oh well. This is a 2017 2ss. I still have the temporary tag. |

Solid runs! I'm sure you know there's more in it with better weather! I've had similar experiences to your 60ft. You can baby it to get a sub 2.00 - 60ft time but it doesn't make the overall run much faster than if you keep your foot in it and let it spin into 2nd.
Hope to see more once the weather cools off! |
