Normal oil pressure
After someone I know brought it up, I've been kind of wondering what is normal oil pressure for these motors.
Based on logs from HP tuners, it looks as if I only get about 50 lbs of oil (hot) pressure at 6k rpm. At idle I'm around 37. back in the day the rule of thumb was 10 lbs of oil pressure per 1k rpm. Engines these days are using much thinner oils than they previous. Should I be concerned?

That is still the general rule of thumb, but I'd say your fine.

That is about the same as my car. My hot idle is more like 31-34. My old cts-v used to idle in the mid 20s.

I was reading a little bit about this over at their forum and they seem to have a much lower PSI in general. Apparently, their oil capacity is 6 quarts instead of our 8 so that may play a factor in it.
