13 ss license plate lights

Anyone else have any issues where the bulb housings have melted allowing the license plate light bulbs to fall out and disappear into the rear bumper??

Check with your Chevy dealer. They issued a recall on this. They should replace/repair everything.

Thank you. I was planning on taking it back to the dealership I bought it at. Definetly will be doing that now. Appreciate the input on this.

No problem. Let us know if they take care of you. Mine is a 2010, same rear so hopefully the recall will still apply.

I took it there today. They quoted me $375 to fix it. Then I pulled up the website I found lasnight and showed it to them (link below). He did another VIN search and found it as a "Special Coverage" parts have to be ordered and they will have to pull the rear bumper to find the wiring and sockets as they are lost in there somewhere. Per the special coverage it is 2010-2013 and is good for 10 years or 120,000 miles from original inservice date of vehicle.

I replaced my license plate bulbs with LEDs. Hopefully if this happens to mine nothing will get damaged since the bulbs do not get hot.
