Exhaust Help
I have had the borla stingers on my car for about 3 months now and i thought that it sound great. They are axle back only and from the inside of the vehicle it sounds deep and loud. Today my wife drove it home while i followed her in our other car and the sound from outside wasnt what i expected. This was the first time i heard the car driving. I've heard it at idle, and sounded o.k., but driving it did not sound like a muscle car.
Does anyone have any advise on what I can do to get a meaner more muscle car sound out. I would still like to use my borlas. Just wondering if putting on headers and even changing the cat back would make the car sound better. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks. By the way, everything in this engine is stock except for the axle back borlas. I live in California and i would like to make sure that it still passes smog and that warranty is not void. Sorry for the long post. Just disappointed with the sound. :( Thanks |

Theres a Group buy For Mach XL Catback I just installed on my 2SS today and it sounds so freakin sweet. Its got a tight exotic sound. After seeing the factory exhaust i would bet it needs cat back. This car is so choked down from the factory. Also if you put an intake on it it helps the car breath and gets some air movin through the engine to the exhaust. ive Got Mach XL Cat Back and Roto-Fab CAI and I'm done. Dealer says thats all ok with the warranty. Dealer sas they'll give you problems if you do anything before the cat exhaust or anything after the CAI. Took it to the dealer and they said no problems. Check out the videos for the Group buy ending 11-1-09

Factory exhaust + aftermarket headers sounds awesome. From all the soundclips I've seen I'm probably going to go that route.

If you have the LS3 you'll need the "Mach-X" system. The current group buy is for the L99, "Mach-XL" system. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ight=solo+mach

Another vote for the ARH longtubes...also with the Borla they sound awesome. There is a number of people on this site that have that setup.
You would love it. |

I've got the Solo Mach-XL on my L99 automatic. Best exhaust I've ever had for a car. You can't beat it for quality, price, and sound!
