09 Challenger R/T

Dodge has the build your 09 Challenger thingy set up, and I really hope this is gonna look good for our Camaro. I built a 09 Challenger R/T and the prices don't seem to awfully bad. The R/T V-8 with minor options came in at $31,190.00 , base started at just over $29k. It's been rumored here that for the Camaro to be a hit it'd have to be priced between the Mustang GT and Challenger. So now that the real prices are out on the R/T anyone wanna take a guess on how much are V-8 Camaro's gonna start at?

Not that damn much... I hope. I'd guess the V8 would start around $26K before dealer mark up. Base (I'm guessing you mean V6) would probably be about $20K. I'm no pricing expert by any means. I'm just guessing, BIG TIME!

Yeah, the R/T started at just over 29k. Your guess wasn't to far from what I was thinking, I was figuring in the 27's? After seeing the actual price on the Challengers now I'm not sure what price range the Camaro would fall in. Maybe I'll check out Ford see if they have the 09 Mustangs listed, get a feel for the middle ground where I think/hope the Camaro'll fall in.

Yeah I figure that's still slightly higher than the base V8 (SS probably) but about accurate. Sadly with the increasing price of steal and whatnot, we're just looking at higher prices all across the board for cars than we'd hoped.

Just looked in of ford and the Premium GT's base is $28375, Regular GT $26425. So, I think I'll stick with my guess of $27ish but keep my fingers crossed for lower. Ofcourse this is still all just guess work.

starting prices for each model... on a hunch:

base - $23k
300hp V6 - $26k
SS - $28k
Z28 - $38k*

*should be noted that this car will probably have very few options available, as it will be fully loaded and only things like 5.1 surround, seating upgrade, wheels upgrades and stripes/colors will be extra charge.

I thought it was was pretty much confirmed that there will only be 2 engines initially available
I think the 300hp V6 will come in around 22,999
They should get a good deal on those V6s, since they are manufacturing more.

I agree with legacy, approx. 23k sounds reasonable for the V6 that's supposed to come out, but 26?..nah
Isn't the mustang V6 about 18-22?..(depending on options)
and the camaro is supposed to be just a bit over the mustang..
so if it were 26k..I'd assume that'd be with max options or something..but even then...
and for the SS to be just 2k higher than the V6 seems a lil low to me.
to go from V6 to V8 in just 2k?, I'd have to say 3k+...
And I doubt the top would be a whole 10k more unless it's significantly higher hp than the first V8, + a S/C

IMO:
23k - V6
26k - 28k - V8
34k - 38k - Top V8
(Depending on options & trim, like if it were possible to add "RS", to your SS, or Z28) And I'm hoping the RS option will be available no matter what power your camaro is. (like the first gen)
