Lexus' One Touch Tint.
So recently I've been driving my grandpa's Lexus...and I noticed a "Mirror" button on the rear view mirror. I didn't really know what it was until last night when a bunch of light was shining in from behind the car;
I pushed the button and the light got brighter. Why? - because the tint on the side, and rear view mirrors faded away after I clicked the button. This may be an extremely old innovation but I've never come across it. I find it to be rather intriguing...why isn't this sorta device placed on windows as well?...I don't really understand how it works but it's rather amazing to be able to click a button, and have the mirrors tint, or untint, at your command... Altho it's probably expensive as hell eh?... it's not a bad tint either its actually rather effective, except at night when the slightest bit of light makes the mirrors dim and you can't see anything behind you.. I suppose I should have put this under another section but too late now I guess...But I was thinking it'd be an interesting thing to have on the camaro..assuming it isn't TOO expensive...I have no clue tho..but seeing as how it's on a Lexus I'd guess it is..

I've never seen that. I would love to have changing window tint.

Electrochromatic tint is not new, but it's never been popular for windows. It is pretty common on mirrors, the rearview in my GMC has it and it's automatic.

You're not able to turn it off in your GMC?, that would bug me...Especially if you wanna see who the hell is tailgating you - to see how to react to it. Slam on your breaks or slow down like hell then gun it. I'm kidding of course...maybe...

My parent's '99 Envoy has that on the mirrors too. There is a button on the rearview mirror that has a button on it that shuts the auto tint on/off on all 3 mirrors. It's pretty cool.... and would be even cooler if the windows did that.

I had the auto dimming feature in my '99 Grand Prix GT. Ford had a system setup on one of it's concept truch back in the mid '90's that would automatically tint all the windows, but that system was too expensive to put into mass production at the time. It may be cheaper these days.

Someone needs to rig the A/C unit or the water pump to act as an impeller for a pressure washer. Feed that through the "urination mod", and let it cut a hole right through their hoods - freaking tailgaters.... |

my 92 pathfinder ahs it. manual though. meaning you have to push this little knobby thing under the rearview and it dims the light.
