Cost for a Tune

I tried searching the forums and couldn't find anything related to this, but for those of you that have had any vehicles tuned at a shop how much did it cost? I'm looking to have my Camaro tuned up so I want to make sure I don't get stiffed.

Here at Horsepower Addicts, tuning will cost 450-650+ depending on mods. Tuning cost does vary widely by area.

The lowest quote I got was for $550. Seems about right for the prices everyone mentioned on here.

They mess around with your ECU settings to give the engine a little more power. It's a warranty killer unless you're past the 5 years/60k miles.

Theres different levels of tuning.
Do you want it run on the dyno, or just doing some mild tweeking to the stock system?
If you've just done a major engine overhaul, upgraded your cam and heads, or swapped to a completely different set up, your tune will be more complicated and cost more.
If you're running mostly stock and just want better performance you can buy a hand held tuner, or have some mild tuning from a shop and it wont be as expensive.
Like someone else said, $500 is pretty average for a dyno tune.
If you're running a racing engine expect to pay more.

Speaking of tunes...in a bar the other nite and the piano player had a pet monkey roaming around collecting tips. A guy orders a beer and the monkey walks over and places his balls in the guys beer. He hollers at the pianist...Hey....You know your monkeys soaking his nuts in my beer...The pianist says....No....hum a few bars and I'll see if I can pick it up
