viper alarms

i was building a viper aarm system on the website, and this message came up...

We currently do not have an interface module available for your vehicle, or your vehicle may not need an interface module. Please check with your installer at time of install to see if one is needed. Click the Continue button below to procede.

does this mean that i can't have it installed on a camaro...im a noob to aftermarket alarm systems, so i apologize if this is an obvious answer

There is not currently a Viper alarm interface available that is totally compatible with the Camaro. There appears to be software problems interacting with the radio/head unit in the Camaro that controls virtually everything in the car that is security related (door locks, horn honk, light indicators). I too had been looking at a 3902V system that links directly into the CANBUS system, but it is doubtful that the interface will be developed.

I have been told by my installer that a 350V system can be installed successfully, but the door locks have to be disabled from the car and controlled by the alarm system. Not something I would want done. It is at least a wait until next year from what I was told on the CANBUS system, if it happens at all from Viper.

What's the advantage of Viper over standard equipped alarm?
