I knwo what you mean.
To get it to a 427 you need to increase teh stroker. That is how far the piston is moved up and down in the bore. That is done by the crankshaft. So you would need new crankshaft, rods and pistons to do it.

You can either buy an engine already built, or have a good reputable shop rebuild yours.

I sell a couple of options which are already built motors if you are interested.

Send me a Private Message and I will be happy to help you in any way that I can.

I would recommend NOT going over a 4" stroke. You can acheive a 427 with a 4.1" crank I think but it puts too much stress on the pistons and rods. I would advise to either do a 4" stroke which will give you 418 I think or getting a complete shortblock using either the ls7 block, world block or lsx block. These blocks can attain 427 easily with a 4" stroke.

We offer 427 7.0l LS3 shortblocks & 427 7.0l LS7 shortblocks.
I'm building a 454 LS7 for my Camaro

Give us a call Monday or shoot me a pm with your email address & what your goals are. I can build you a custom quote that will cover cylinder heads, proper camshaft etc. We use tons of engine dyno time to develop all our packages. With the PRC cnc ported LS7 heads we've had numerous 427 engines make over 600rwhp (725flywheel horespower)

Ask the companies your looking at for pictures of there equipment, ask them about what components they use & how many of these engines they've built.

It is our opinion that you will be much better off starting out with a complete new LS7 and selling off your LS3 or L99 engine.

You can purchase a GM crate LS7 or have one completely custom built. There are many competent LS engine builders in the market place.

What you plan to do with the car and/or how you plan to drive it will dictate what you may need for your particular intended purpose.

Our team has built and tested LS based 427s from 550hp up to 900hp which run on pump gas.

Our Stage III Nickey Camaros start off with a 700 hp NA pump gas engines.

These engines are a works of art and are built/assembled and tested by Master Engine builders.
