shifter boot

I have a 14ss 6spd. did the earlier manuals have a rubber boot for the shifter? I saw a picture on here somewhere where some one had what looked like a hurst boot. do any of you good people know whete I can find one? part number etc. thanks, the oldman.....

They all should have a leather (fake leather?) boot around the shifter.

Hi,

Just happened to see your post this morning. I think you were referencing my Hurst rubber boot. I actually fabricated the boot to fit my 2010 manual 6 speed. I had actually bought two Hurst boots and added an extension to the front of the square boot, using the front lip off of the second boot. I glued them together from the back side of the boot using a backing strip, off of the second boot to glue the two pieces together to get the right configuration for the shift opening. I also glued the chrome trim ring to the underside of the gauge pack. It has held up for about 7 years now.

thanks for the thought vegas. I have a b4 boot from hurst. last year I took apart the faux leather boot and made a flat template that matches the plastic frame I think I'm going to sandwich the crome ring and the rubber boot between the stainless frame and pop rivet the three pieces together with the existing 4 holes on the boot and plate to see if I can make it work.
