TSP Long Tubes

Hey everyone, I’ve been contemplating ordering Texas Speed 1 7/8ths long tubes with the off road connections. Am I going to need the extras such as the Heat sleeve, super conductor wires, new gaskets, header bolts, or spark plugs? I currently just have a cai and muffler delete and I have 70k miles. Any help will be appreciated!

Every set of headers I've bought came with the bolts and gaskets. With you being at 70k miles it might not be a bad idea to change the plugs but its not absolutely needed. I would certainly remove them while putting the headers in though.

I recommend changing the plugs when doing the headers, unless they are already in good shape. You really should remove them for the install anyway, since leaving them in during the install puts you at risk of cracking a plug or two when the flange inevitably hits the plug. It only takes the lightest of taps to crack a plug.

If you are still running the OEM header gasket then you can probably reuse those. But some people like to get some freshies for the header install. Just make sure to use the OEM MLS style if you swap them out.

I am not using any sort of heat sleeve and have never had any issues with melted wires with my TSP headers - the boots don't really come close. I reused the OEM bolts.

My TSP came with new gaskets and bolts. You will need the O2 extensions as well if they are not included. I didn’t remove my spark plugs and had no issues. If this is your first set to install or you don’t have an extra hand I would recommend removing them though. Not a hard install.

All what they said!!!! I would remove the plugs just for their safety, if you do slip and crack one, well then you need to go get new ones..

Get new OEM gaskets...and I'd suggest new plugs. Reuse stock bolts. Might think about hi-flow cats, because with a muffler delete, that dude is gonna be loud.
Get a tune and go have fun!

What ever you do, dont use paper trash gaskets that some manufacturers send with their headers. Oem multi layer steel only. You can reuse stock bolts or upgrade to arps. Change plugs. 70k and you have to remove them anyway. I put msd wires in when i did mine amd just to be safe, i installed heat sleves

i just installed my TSP 1 7/8 with high flow cats last weekend. like others have said, get new MLS gaskets from Texas Speed, you can reuse the manifold bolts, all other hardware should be included. You will need to get O2 extensions (also from Texas speed) as well as a tune. I recommend getting an SCT X4 tuner from RDP Motorsport and have Dyno Steve do a remote tune for you, you will not regret it.

I did not remove my plugs when i did mine, and i did manage to tap one with the header flange and broke it in half..so, your call if you want to remove them. If i were to do it again, they would come out.
