WTB complete SS strut assemblies for my Z/28
After much debate I have decided to convert my 2015 Z/28 to a DD. I want to replace all four strut assemblies with SS compatible units. I do not want used ones so I am not inquiring in the used parts section. I want new complete assemblies. GM does not sell the complete strut assemblies at least I cannot find a part number for them. So that leaves me with aftermarket assemblies. I have found many examples on Ebay and such websites. I was just wondering if somebody in the know could direct me to the best examples to purchase. Remember I want NEW COMPLETE assemblies SS configuration only. I have had very good luck with Monroe units that are on my GTO. If I don't get any better recommendations I will probably go with Monroe. I have also already purchased SS front and rear sway bars as I intend to replace those also as they will match the SS springs. The Z/28 components will be saved if and when I ever sell the car they will go with. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure if they have complete units with springs, but Monroe OESpectrum Premium struts have identical etch tags and stamping on the bodies that my originals had. I wasn’t able to find a single difference in them. Hope this helps

I know we all buy our cars for our own reasons which is fine. I bought a Z/28 because I wanted a Z/28 and what it stood for. I believe others may buy a Z/28 because they want to buy a bad ass 427 cu in small block Camaro, which I really don't blame them. To each their own, but it doesn't make sense to me to change out integral parts of a limited production car that make the car what it is. I've owned a '69 Z/28 for 43 years, so of course I am prejudiced!
Hope you find what you are looking for.

I have been thinking about the lighter weight of the Z/28 verses using the stock SS springs. I am thinking I might need lowering springs to maintain the stock SS ride height. Of course the wider Z/28 wheels and 19" instead of 20" will also affect the ride height. 1 inch lowering? What do you think? I will also most likely be removing the front splitter to gain some ground clearance.

You may be able to accomplish your goal by switching to 18" wheels with taller sidewall and a touring compound. Then when you finally decide to run out at Blackhawk Farms or Auto X at Rockford Speedway you can do a quick tire/wheel swap. Hate to tell ya but even a stock SS suspension (especially with lowering springs!) is going to have a bumpy ride on those N. Illinois roads.
