I REALLY can't wait to get my camaro...

Well Chris (Downwithopp) came to hang out with my fiancee, best friend and I for dinner, and offered to let me drive his LS3 camaro. He's got the M1pd spoiler, powdercoated his rims black, black bowties and taillight bezels. Well after dinner he tosses me the key and says do whatever you want.

I hadn't driven a manual in quite a while so I warned him the first few times accelerating from a stop might be jerky. I asked how far the clutch could come out before engaging and he said it's about halfway so I figured I had some room to play with.

Can I say that's the easiest manual transmission I've ever driven? I've had Honda Civics with clutches needing to be replaced that were harder to drive than that thing. After accelerating from the parking spot, and again when the gate to our complex opened, I felt very comfortable with the transmission and felt like having some fun.

We let my complex and got onto 92, cruised up to Ralston ave. and back down to my complex, and I think the fastest I got it up to was 71 getting onto the freeway coming home as I don't like police on that strip of freeway. I merged at 60 and cruised at 58 coming home staying 3 miles over the speedlimit as to not get a ticket in Chris's car.

Those 7 miles were a blast and the car can really "pin an old mans ass in the seat" as a certain someone claimed a year or so back. I don't think it went over 3500 rpms cept maybe for half a second, but good lord, that thing is fun to drive.


Thanks for coming out for dinner Chris and a very big thank you for handing me the keys. I need to speak with Tom Henry either today or tomorrow but I think I could be ordering in the next 36 hours.

if I order today or tomorrow, I'll get it before my wedding in May hopefully. Check my journal thread for the current build. THR doesn't like the white so I'm gonig to be asking him what he thinks would be good. Might just go with full length stripes if I can't think of anything.

Colors are IBM with CGM secondary though.
