Stock oil cooler/heater

This is in reference to the stock oil cooler/heater on a 2010 SS. I recently did the delete of said part and wanted to share some thoughts on why these regularly leak for a lot of us.
The pic shows both plates of the cooler. You can see on the left that the machining is smooth across the entire surface. On the right, the surface is multiple passes from the machining process. The red arrow is pointing to the edge of one of these “passes” and you can definitely feel it. Even with o-rings, this has to contribute to a less than desirable mating surface. Good possibility of why these “coolers” end up leaking.

Thats insane yours looks like that. Mine was leaking, I replaced the o rings and mine definitely did not look like that. It was still pretty smooth.
