supercharger and engine upgrades

I spoke with my dealer today and he informed me that GM has approved 2 different replacement engine upgrades and a maggy SC kit for 2010 camaro and would be covered under the GM warrenty has anyone else heard or asked their dealer about this. The upgrades start at 7k and up to 21k. I think i am gonna go with the new bigger engine, dont know spec yet, and the SC kit they are offering. I was runshed so I couldnt get all the details on specs but am gonna call him again tomorrow to get print outs and in writing on all the things that were approved.

Haven't heard that before...at least not backed by GM.

Several companies (i.e., Hennessey, Callaway, SLP, etc) are selling their cars thru dealerships and you can order packages thru delaers...but the warranty is thru the aftermarket company, not GM...at least the powertrain warranty. The bumper to bumper stuff like power windows, electronics, etc...that is GM.

I'd think it's with aftermarket installers...not GM.

i specifically asked that question if it was the aftermarket ppl that covered it and he said" GM warrenties it" cause its all installed by the dealer.. like I said I'll try to get him back on the phone tomorrow and confirm everything and email me these "approved" upgrades

@ legend, I've gotten a preliminary yes when I asked about the tvs 2300 since it's on chevy cars already. So it's possible, I'm going to call gm perf parts tomorrow.

@wbt, I've seen and drooled over this before. Can't imagine the power increase..

There another thread on here somewhere about that specific question...an SLP car and GM put a block on the VIN and denied the work. I didn't catch the whole story or look up the thread again...but GM didnt' do the R&D on those SCs so I doubt GM would provide warranty work!

The selling dealer would do the work but talk with the upfitter for the payment I'm sure.

I'd say ask who is the supercharger being shipped from for install and tune...that should tell you the answer!

Since we both bought from same dealer we could be in luck

I can't think of one GM built car that had a TVS2300 on it from the factory? Maybe I missed something?

IDK...I'd watch it with upfitters and dealers...get the full disclosure first and read the fine print!!

@legend it's one of the vettes. Z06 or the zr1. Not sure but it's stock on the car meaning gm or gmpp has it in there books. So why not put it on the camaro? That's how I put it when I asked and they called me back and said it'd work.
