Trim tree thingy
I am getting ready to put sound deadener in my trunk. I have removed all the trim panels. The two side panels have two each of these plastic tree looking things. They are black plastic, pointed and once pushed in are a biotch to pull out so I cut the heads off of them.
I am sure others have run into these. What are they called and where did you go to replace them? Cheers K |

You can probably get them from gmpartsdirect.com ... I am currently in the process of doing the same thing... I'm just notching all of the sound deadening material I am laying down though.

Moriartii: They are called Trim Retainers. You can get them at websites like The Fastener Warehouse. Here is a link: http://www.thefastenerwarehouse.com/...age/566976.htm . Hope this helps

There are all kinds of names for them, basically - panel retainers.

There's also several different versions available at autozone or pep boys. Maybe something that's easier to remove but still holds well? Who knows, there's a very wide variety of these little things...

I ended up getting a package of 15 from advance auto parts, they are the universal ones. Specs are 3/4" head x 3/4" length fitting in a 1/4" hole.

Lowes has them in the hardware isle. They are in the blue drawers. (so nice that all Lowes stores are pretty much the same)
