At this point in the debate of V6 CAI's you are pretty much not getting anything. In theory you would get more air easier at a colder temperature to the engine. Your engine won't work as hard to get the air, allowing quicker throttle response, more horse power, and (if you can keep your foot out of it) better mpg's.

It has some other benifits such as appearance and sound so it's kinda up to you as to what you are looking for, performance, appearance, or both.

I agree that with my current AIRAID CAI the only benefit is the throttle sound. Read about the INJEN CAI, since right now it seems like it will yeild more HP.

Well to be honest with all of you and Mankind put it just right ......... HOLD OFF FROM ADDING A CAI ....... at least until mrray and scrming coming back with useful data on the injen. The Airaid - well everyone knows my stance on that. If you want a copy of the dyno sheet let me know.

Can't really comment on AirRaid, since I've never had one, but I know from experience that the Injen can add, at the -very- least, awesome sound improvement and looks great. Have one on my 2008 Cobalt Sport (previously known as the SS/NA), and had one on my '99 Mustang V6. On the Mustang, dyno proved decent gains in low end torque and high end HP (specific #'s irrelevant, as the Mustang had head\intake\valvetrain work, full exhaust, etc.)

They can be a bit of a pain in the ass to get to the filter for cleanings\changes though. But the whole "Ya gotta pay to play" saying goes for more than $ costs...means cost in time, too. And imho, it's worth it.

Got one on the way for my Camaro, hydroshield and all.

I am gonna wait on scrming to get the numbers on the injen before I buy anything else. Hopefully he will have info on both Airaid and Injen soon. Leaning to the Injen, cause it looks much better, but at this point I'm afraid it will be mostly for sound and looks. Increase in performance is a big plus too.
