they used the wrong oil!!

Took my car into the dealership for it's 1st oil change and to have any service bullitins checked on the car. I tell em to make sure they put Mobil 1 back in there, and they take my baby away to the shop. About 45min later they bring her back around. I go to pay for the oil change and read on the work order that they put Pennzoil synthetic blend in it. So I ask the lady why they put pennzoil in my car when I asked for Mobil 1 (I wasn't charged the higher Mobil 1 price). She didin't know and went and got the service manager. I told him I had asked for Mobil 1 and I don't like Pennzoil, and that I would like them to drain that out of my engine and put the Mobil 1 in there like I had requested. After discussing the situation with him for a bit I ended up getting the oil change for free if I didn't want them to take it back and drain it out of the car. I think it was cuz they were really busy and seemed to be running behind. I agreed and left with the crapzoil in my car.

I guess what I'm getting at here is I've heard alot of bad things about Penzoil, and I'm going to the track next friday. Should I change the oild before going there or right after I get back??

I run Mobil 1 full synthetic in my 2SS. I actually have it special ordered to Goodyear and watch them put it in through the glass window to the shop to ensure that they don't use the wrong type or mix it up. The manager and I have a great relationship and he ALWAYS makes sure his techs take extra special care of my car. He'll always oversee their work.

It takes 8 quarts and I also pay for an upgrade high perf. oil filter too. My baby deserves nothing but the best.

If they used Pennzoil Platinum, you're fine.

If they used Pennzoil Synthetic Blend then you're not running 100% synthetic--get that crap out of there!

The synthetic pennzoil is fine. Its the old conventional pennzoil that was a sludge factory.

Both the dealers by me use Pennzoil synthetic. They don't even have Mobil 1. You're fine.

Drain it, rinse it out with a hose, and put synthetic Mobile 1 back in it.

EDIT: scratch that. I remember that guy on the mustang forum who actually did.

of all the people saying its fine how many have seen what penzoil does inside your engine?the first time you see the inside of a valve cover that has run penzoil you will never use it again, worst oil ive ever seen inside an engine, ask yourself this question, does my 2010 camaro say mobil1 on the cap or penzoil?im sure they meant penzoil not mobil1 my two cents
